Nathalie Blomqvist and Mustafa Muuse ran in Lille.
The Finnish athletics couple Nathalie Blomqvist and Mustafa Muuse succeeded in a dazzling trick in Lille, France.
They participated in a 10 km road race. Blomqvist raced to a new Finnish record of 31.25. The previous record (31.59) was held by Johanna Peipose . It was born in 2016.
Muuse, on the other hand, ignored the 44-year SE result in the same competition. Muuse’s final time was 28.47, which is the same as Martti Kiilholma’s SE result from 1980.
Blomqvist’s ranking was seventh in the women’s race, while Muuse’s was 21st in the men’s race.
SUL’s press release stated that the competition was fast-paced.
– My time was a positive surprise. I was aiming for an SE result, and before the race I estimated that I would run somewhere between 31.40 and 32.00, Blomqvist set the mood for SUL.
Muuse would have liked to grab the record in his own name from Kiilholma.
– There is some curse in that SE. I’ve been very close a couple of times now, Muuse said.
Blomqvist and Muuse have been dating for about a year. Last summer, Blomqvist told Iltalehte that they now live in a shared home in Vaasa.
– We understand each other very well, as we have quite similar lives. I get to be myself in a relationship. It’s really nice and relaxed to be together, Blomqvist described in the summer.
